Let’s see how things are doing in July. This data is comprised of the most current available data, which is July 2016. The Aug numbers won’t be out for about 2 weeks, but let’s see where things stand so far.
With Peoria being the largest city in the central Illinois area, the data holds a lot more home numbers than the smaller communities that surround it. As such, the percentage swings aren’t as wild.
July saw a decrease for the month in homes for sale, down 15.6%. Sales were down 19%, and the average sale price was down 8.3% to $136K. The average days on market was up…from 644 days to 72 days, which amounted to +12.5%.
That data was for July 2016 compared to July 2015.
Year to date stats, for the period 1/1/2015 through to July 31st, 2015, and the same period for 2016, shows that new listings in Peoria were down 1.3%, sales were down 1.4%, and days on market were up 3.7% from 82 to 85 days on average.
Be sure to check back soon as we will be updating with the August numbers as soon as they come out.
